Privacy Policy

Last modified: July 23, 2026 Governed by the Terms of Use

MemTrax LLC ("MemTrax," "we," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our site and the MemTrax Test, how we use and protect it, when we share it, and the rights and choices you have. Please read it carefully.

Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide

When you register for an account, we may ask you to supply personal information including your email address, postal address, telephone number, and demographic details such as gender, education level, and (where provided) year of birth. We use this information in accordance with the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy. From time to time we may invite you to complete voluntary surveys, forms, or questionnaires; participation is always optional.

MemTrax Test data

When you take the MemTrax Test, we collect your responses, reaction times, and memory-performance results, and associate them with your account so you can track your results over time.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to recognize returning visitors, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. A cookie cannot read data from your hard drive or capture your email address. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though some features may not function without them. We use a small number of third-party services that may set cookies or collect usage data on our behalf, including our hosting provider (Cloudways), our payment processor (Stripe) for purchases, and product-analytics tools that help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. These providers process data under agreements that restrict their use of it.

Sensitive personal information

Some of the information we collect may be considered "sensitive personal information" under California law, which as of 2026 includes neural data and health-related information. This may include your MemTrax Test results, reaction-time data, and memory-performance measures when linked to your account.

We use this information only to provide the MemTrax Test and its results to you, to track your performance over time, and for the research and improvement purposes described below. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you for any purpose incompatible with providing the service. You have the right to limit our use of your sensitive personal information — see Your rights & choices.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the MemTrax Test and deliver your results;
  • Let you track your performance over time;
  • Measure and improve the accuracy of the test and the content of the site;
  • Perform statistical analysis of aggregate user behavior for research and service development;
  • Send you newsletters or updates, but only if you have consented to receive them.

We do not sell or share your personal information. Your MemTrax Test results and other data may be used in anonymized, aggregated form for research studies and publications, but never in a way that identifies you.

When we share information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. Vendors who process data on our behalf to operate the site and service, under contracts that restrict their use of it — currently our hosting provider (Cloudways) and our payment processor (Stripe).
  • Research use. We may use your data in anonymized, aggregated form for research studies and publications. This data does not identify you. We do not currently share personal information with outside research partners.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose personal information when permitted or required by law, subpoena, warrant, or other legal process.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Know and access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Delete your personal information;
  • Limit our use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information;
  • Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information;
  • Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time, without losing access to the site or the test.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at curtis@memtrax.com or use our contact form. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Account information is retained while your account is active. When an account is closed, we delete its personal information within 10 business days. (Unsubscribing from emails is not the same as closing an account.) Anonymized, aggregated data used for research may be retained indefinitely, as it no longer identifies you.

Security

The security of your personal information matters to us. We use encryption in transit (TLS) for all pages that handle personal information, and we maintain administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The MemTrax Test and site are intended for adults. Account registration is limited to individuals 18 and older, and our registration process is designed not to collect a date of birth from anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@memtrax.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, and will review it at least annually. When we make material changes, we will post a notice on the site or email you. Your continued use of the site or the test after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review it periodically.
